Surfers Healing

We have recently had the opportunity to team up with Surfers Healing, an organization that literally changes the lives of individuals with Autism through interaction with the ocean via surfing. This experience has long lasting effects on these folks and allows them to experience the pure joy felt when riding a board.

To help raise awareness for this amazing cause, we have teamed up with the homies at Surfers Healing to come up with a collaborative skateboard featuring their logo on our most surf inspired model. This joint effort skateboard is the perfect way to join in on the stoke while also supporting these rippers ability to stroke into many more waves to come.

Help us help this amazing group keep doing what they are doing to positively impact the lives of those who need it most by snagging one of these sleds for your self or by visiting the Surfers Healing website to learn other ways that you can get involved and support their mission!

The Dream: The Art of Skateboarding

The skateboarding community is one of the main motivators for us when it comes to why we choose to do what we do. Its hands down the most unique collection of individuals on earth which is something that we want to share and promote in all things we do. With this in mind, we recently were approached with an incredible opportunity to host a community gathering here at Bustin HQ in collaboration with a few key individuals within our area as well as within skateboarding its self. The Dream: The Art of Skateboarding is going to be an Art Auction as well as Video Premier with an ultimate goal of raising money for Jake’s Skate Park which is slotted to be built in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore.

On January 13th from 7pm-10pm,  The Bustin Crew along with Mike Vallely and Joey Jett from Street Plant Skateboards are teaming up together to  rally the local skate and art communities to come out and gather for a one of a kind fundraiser that is not to be missed. Mike will be hanging out and lurking with everyone while Joey will be premiering his new film The Dream: The Art of Skateboarding with everyone present as well. Key Brewing, Waterfront Partnership, Skatepark of Baltimore, as well as Friends of Rash Field will also be lending a helping hand to benefit the building of a skatepark in honor of 5-year old Jake Owen who tragically was killed by a distracted driver while skating in Baltimore. There will be auction items donated from various businesses, artists, as well as a few one off skateboards donated by Mike, Joey, and The Ryan Sheckler Foundation which also will be up for bids with all proceeds going to the build fund for the park.

Each hand signed and certainly not available anywhere else

To ensure that you get the chance to experience everything going down on the 13th, be sure to visit  www.TheArtofSkateboarding.eventbrite.com to snag your ticket before they are all sold out. Tickets are only $10 which will include two drink tickets so you can bet they will be moving very fast! Come out and show your support for your local scene and also jump on the chance to meet one of the legends within our art of skating as well as one of the up and coming stars following in his foot steps.

Bustin Out Holiday Cheer

It is always better to give than to receive and being the Holiday Season, there is no better time to remember this simple proverb.  We here at Bustin have been beyond blessed this year to have had so many of y’all out there support us by giving one of our skateboards as the gift that keeps on giving to so many of your loved ones. Feeling all of this Community Support made it very clear that we had to reciprocate the gesture and spread the stoke for our selves.  In line with this theme, a couple members of The Bustin Crew packed up the van and mobbed over to a local middle school to dish out some early gifts from Santa to a group of students who achieved perfect attendance this past semester.

Skateboarding is much more than an activity or simply just a means of transportation around your local neck of the woods. To us here at Bustin, skateboarding is the ultimate gift that teaches life lessons that can propel individuals physically, as well as mentally, through any hurtles thrown at them. These 15 students are now members of our community and we cannot be more stoked to have them on board with us as together as we will continue to Push More and Stay Stoked!

Thank you to everyone involved on the backend to make this a reality for these very deserving young people. Looking forward to seeing y’all pushing through the streets and hopefully getting some more sessions in at HQ together soon!

Push More Rep Events: Huaxtla Dh 2017

This past weekend, our Push More Rider Rep Salvador De la Torre went full send on a radical event which brought out riders from all over his local area of Guadalajara, Mexico.  His race, Huaxtla Dh 2017 was held on a user friendly incline that allowed each participant to push themselves but also catered to progression for riders of all skill levels. Running heats for Girls, Amateurs,  as well as Masters, this truly was a #CommunityCommitted event with an end goal simply of providing a place for everyone to rally together and have fun wiggling down a hill.

This is exactly the reason we started the Bustin Push More Rep Program which was and is to help support fellow skaters as they support grass roots movements like this in their neck of the woods. Skating is much more than just an art style, its a life style composed of real life community members that collaborate to create one of the most unique atmospheres on earth when they assemble in numbers. Salvador is one of the latest Community Contributors but we are amped to see how our growing number of Push More Reps are able to impact skateboarding as a whole in the upcoming future.

To join the ranks and begin earning not just Bolts for simply Pushing More but also to start working toward building a bigger and better skateboarding community for us all to enjoy, mob over to the Rep Portal and toss in your application!  We are skaters looking to give back to the fellow skaters out there who have supported us along the way so sign up today to join the Push More Family and together lets build the community we desire to be a part of!
