Shop of the Week: Permanent Vacation Skate Shop Wilmington NC

Situated with perfect proximity to The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Permanent Vacation Skate Shop is ready, willing, and able to serve their local community with top notch gear to keep them rolling. Specializing in what ever type of skating you are looking to do, the homies at Permanent are knowledgable on the product they carry simply because when they aren’t behind the service counter they are actually out using it them selves. Whether you need that new shred sled to rip around one of the many local parks or just are looking for that cruiser to get up and down the endless beach blocks you will be sure to leave with exactly what you need to keep the stoke high.

Opened and operated by life long skater and community contributor Subhan Anwari, you can rest assured that this is a For Skaters, By Skaters environment through and through. Recently celebrating their 6th anniversary with a shop lurk/jam session (something that has become a very regular occurrence) on the ramps and rails housed in the back room, this shop since its conception has been giving back to the community by providing them a place to call their own. Through this outreach and others like it, the shop has compiled a very reparable team of rippers who are very active within the community and are constantly stacking media.

Make sure you stop by and say whats up if you ever find your self in the Wilmy-wood area, we promise you will not be disappointed!

Shop of the Week: Malibu’s Surf Shop, Ocean City Maryland

Legitimately one of our favorite shops we’ve ever been in (and we aren’t just saying that because we’re from Maryland too), Malibu’s Surf Shop located on the main drag of the board walk in OCMD knows whats good when it comes to all of your surf and skate needs.  Owned and operated by a Father and his Son’s, the roots to surfing and skating as well as ties to the town its self are deeply steeped in the genetic make up of this shop. The moment you walk up onto the porch right off of the board walk, you will instantly know that you are in the right place.

Being in such a prime location on the beach, this has long been the go to for a live surf report from the horses mouth which has only helped to solidify this place as a staple in the OCMD surf and skate community. From the die hards all the way to the weekend warriors,  Malibu’s is the go to place on the strip where the whole family can go and all leave with something they are stoked on. If you happen to be in the area anytime soon, make sure to hit these guys up to check out some of  our latest model sleds from Bustin as well as other top notch gear from around the industry.

Shop of the Week: Rayzor Tattoos and Skate Shop

Located in Steelton Pennsylvania, Rayzor Tattoos has recently expanded its art offerings to include more than just illustrations for the human body as the waiting parlor for the tattoo shop now doubles as The Skate Shop,  Steelton’s premiere supporter of their skateboarding community. Owned and operated by Ray Young, an OG as far as our ranks are concerned, this shop is the place in the greater Harrisburg area to gear up for you next shred mission. Stocking boards and components from all the disciplines of skating, the guys here can help no matter how you get down by offering you top notch equipment suited toward your riding style.

Specializing in free expert advise, Ray and his partner in shred Joe are solely interested in spreading the stoke of skating to individuals in their area. This dynamic duo has teamed up to organize and run multiple contests and skate lessons including The Get on Board program that helps get special needs children on a board and rolling. Recognizing that all of these new members to the skateboarding community need a place to hone their skills, Ray has been the key figure in the recently approved plans for the building of a skate park right in Steelton. With ground breaking scheduled for May 9th, that means that soon there will be another concrete shredable for all of us to enjoy thanks to the efforts of a few of our homies!

Shop of the Week: OG Surf and Skate, Ocean Grove NJ

When charging down to the Jersey Shore this summer, the homies at OG Surf & Skate have made it possible to skip the “Gym, tan, laundry” malarky often associated with this region and replace them with “Paddle, push, progress”. Located on the main drag in Ocean Grove (where OG derives its name), this shop has something to offer for anyone looking to get ready to get shreddy.

Only a few blocks from the beach, OG serves as the last stop before you hit the water and the first stop when you get out and are looking to grab a new board to pump around town on. The knowledgable and super friendly staff are interested only in stoking you out with exactly what you need to keep the good times rolling. If you find your self in the Ocean Grove area anytime soon, make sure to run into the shop and say whats up to Sam and tell her the #BustinFam sent you!
